EUR/USD slides, holds above 1.24 handle

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The Euro trades lower against the greenback in the Asian morning, as broad based US dollar strength against major counterparts weighs on the single currency.

The EUR/USD pair trades now at 1.2435 levels, down -0.21%, compared to previous session’s close of 1.2462 levels. The Euro remains pressured against the US dollar in absence of any key data release during the European session, as markets look forward to better than estimates US industrial production data later today.

EUR/USD Technical Levels

The pair has an immediate resistance at 1.2478 (Dec 14 High) levels, above which gains could be extended to 1.2496 (Dec 11 High) levels. On the flip side, support is seen at 1.2429 (50-day SMA) levels, below which it could extend losses to 1.2408 (100-day SMA) levels.

AUD/USD hits a fresh 4-year low

The Aussie resumes its decline against the US dollar, hitting a new four-year low at 0.8205 in early Asian morning.
