Asian equity markets soar Monday

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Asian equities have streamed higher Monday, having taken advantage of a bourgeoning commodity weakness and a lightened trading volume.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the Shanghai rose +0.75% as it settles in region of 2299.99, up +17.12 points in these moments. In addition, the Nikkei 225 is trading in positive territory, operating at 15360.81, climbing +222.69 points or +1.47% at the time of writing. Finally, the Hang Seng Index has edged higher today, trading in the zone of 23493.03, presently +1.76% after a movement of +410.35 points.

Moving to commodities the prices of gold and silver are trading at USD $1354.14 and $21.56 per oz. respectively. Moreover, the price of crude is operating at USD $95.43/bbl Monday.

USD/CHF losses mount below 0.9700 handle

The USD/CHF managed to lose its grip on the 0.9700 level, thereby falling lower in recent minutes to notch fresh session lows at 0.9676/82, following the release of Italian data during European trading.
